Watercolor Salt Technique!

Hi Stamping Friends,

I did the watercolor salt technique for my club this month and my Watercolor Wonder stamp set of the month. I try to make a video for stamp set of the month explaining the technique.
The video turned out to be to a little too sunny but I hope you’ll be able to get an idea of how to try the technique. It’s easy, fun, and you get a surprise with the color variations at the end.

I would use more salt than less on this technique.

Watercolor & Says it All

Accessories: Etcetera
Designer Series Paper, Calypso Coral Bakers Twine, Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border
Punch, In- Color Boutique Details

Here’s the instructions for the card.

1.
Cut a 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” card base from Whisper White card stock and score at 4-1/4″ to create a card base.
2.
Place the 5-1/2” side along the top of the paper cutter. Make a center
panel by cutting the card stock at 1-1/2” mark on each side down to the score line. Glue down the side
panels.  Score the centre panel at
2-1/4”.
3.     Adhere
the 1-1/4” x 4” Designer Series Paper to the card.
4.     Wet
a piece of 2” x 3” Watercolor paper with an Aqua Painter. Drop 4 drops of
Calypso Coral re-inker on the paper and blend with the Aqua Painter. Drop sea salt on the paper and let dry. About 1 hour.
5.     Once
dry, brush off the salt with a tissue.
6.     Stamp
the flower image on the water color paper with Black Stazon ink. Add some white
dots to the center of the flower with a Chalk marker.
7.     Punch
Calypso Coral  1” x 2” card stock
with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch and attach behind the water color
paper.
8.     Stamp
the greeting on Crisp Cantaloupe 4” x 2-1/4” card stock.  Attach the watercolor paper to the
Crisp Cantaloupe card stock.
9.     Attach
to the bottom of the Whisper White center panel.
10. Wrap Baker’s
Twine around the flower image.
11. Add an
In-color Boutique Detail button to the card.

I hope you enjoy the video.

Happy Stamping,
Karina
