Hi Stamping Friends,
Have you tried making a card in a box yet? It’s really easy and really fun!!!
I needed some special birthday cards so I used the Flower Shop Bundle #132727 (W) or #132726 (C) and the Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper to make my card.
The greeting is from the A Fitting Occasion stamp set #131952. This is one I fall back on quite often. It has four simple greetings that I can punch out with the 1″ circle punch and layer with other circles or scallop shapes.
I started with Island Indigo 5-1/2″ x 9″ card stock scored at 2-1/8″, 4-1/4″, 6-3/8″ and 8-1/2″ on the 9″ side. Turn your card stock and score at 2-3/4′ on the 5-1/2″side.
On the 9″ side cut up to the 2-3/4″score line four times. ( I used my Stampin’ Trimmer.)
Cut away the 1/2″ rectangle.
I have included a picture for you.
Sticky strip gets applied to the 1/2″ tab and you just close the box.
The secret to the box are the two centre pieces of card stock that go inside the box. They are 1-1/2″ x 3-1/8″ scored at 1/2″ and 2-5/8. Add sticky strip to the tabs and placed inside the box.
Next cut five 1/2″ x 3″ strips from our Stampin’ Up window sheets. Attach these to the centre card stock pieces with a glue dot. Attach your flowers to the top of the window sheet strips with a glue dot.
This card can be folded up and mailed in a regular A2 envelope.
Now, if you’re a frugal stamper and want to get two cards out of one piece of card stock, Just change the dimensions to 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ and score at 2″, 4″, 6″ & 8″ and then 2-3/4″ the other side.
Your center card stock pieces would be 3″ scored at 1/2″ and 2-3/4″.
Happy Stamping,
Karina
